A major three-day winter storm is on track to hit Minnesota this week beginning Tuesday night, with the heaviest band of snow expected Wednesday night through Thursday. The National Weather Service has declared a winter storm warning through Thursday, and said parts of Minnesota, including Le Center, could see between 19-25 inches of snow accumulation and sustained winds.This is a very large storm system that will significantly impact travel and road conditions with the city and around Le Sueur County. City leaders are strongly encouraging all residents to be prepared for difficult travel conditions and plan accordingly.
Please be aware of Ordinance 40-89 regarding Winter Parking..."No motor vehicle or recreational vehicle or trailer of any kind shall be parked on any public
street of any residential or business district following a one (1) inch or more snow fall
accumulation and the continuation thereafter until such time the streets of the City of Le Center
have been plowed open from curb to curb. Any motor or recreational vehicle or trailer shall be
cited by the City of Le Center Police Department and / or towed at the expense of the owner of
any motor or recreational vehicle or trailer found to be in violation of this ordinance."
