The City does not provide direct electricity, natural or liquid fuel services to its residents or businesses.  There are providers in the area that are able to service those needs for both residential services and business/corporate services.

Refuse & Recycling
Garbage and recycling service is provided as a part of your monthly City water and wastewater bill.

Garbage Service:
Residents must purchase blue garbage bags* labeled 'Le Center', from either City Hall, Hardware Hank or Radermachers. Bags come in two sizes. The City will only pickup garbage in these bags, discarding anything else placed for collection.

Trash pickup is every Thursday morning.  For holiday schedules, please check the City News page of this site.

Recycling Services:
Provided to all residents of Le Center on Wednesdays from 4:30pm to 7:30pm and Saturdays between 7am and noon.  Accepted Items: Tin & aluminum cans, glass bottles, plastic jugs, mixed paper and corrugated cardboard.


Sewer & Water
Water and Sewer services are provided by the City of Le Center's Public Works Department.  Billing for Water usage is handled by the City's Finance department.


Snow Removal
Snow & Ice removal from city streets is provided by the City Maintenance division of the Public Works department.

City crews remove snow from approximately 50 miles of street within the City. The City of Le Center routinely removes snow from all paved city streets within the city limits.
Snow removal is primarily the responsibility of the Street, Park and Facilities Sections in the Public Works Maintenance Division.

In addition:
Equipment personnel keep plows ready to operate and conduct quick repairs as necessary during a storm.  Utility crews augment Maintenance staff to operate equipment.   Residents help by complying with snow-related ordinances and reporting slippery intersections or other unsafe areas they encounter.

Snow Parking Enforcement:
"Sec. 40-89. Winter parking.
No motor vehicle or recreational vehicle or trailer of any kind shall be parked on any public street of any residential or business district following a one (1) inch or more snow fall accumulation and
the continuation thereafter until such time the streets of the City of Le Center have been plowed open from curb to curb. Any motor or recreational vehicle or trailer shall be cited by the City of Le
Center Police Department and / or towed at the expense of the owner of any motor or recreational vehicle or trailer found to be in violation of this ordinance."

To stay alert to the City's snow removal schedule, the City website will have a snow removal alert posted during the period of enforcement.  You can also contact city hall during normal business hours.
